When I think back on my 8 years as co-director of Mary’s Guest House, my first feelings are ones of love and gratitude. I always tell people that the women, victims of human trafficking, were a source of inspiration and of pride to me. They were determined to get their lives back and worked hard to achieve this. To be a part of that transformation was awesome and a privilege.
I do not forget and have a great deal of sadness over the 1 in 5 who could not make the break with their addictions or former life or could not believe that their lives could be redeemed or healed or made whole. Still, I love them and keep hope for them. I thank God and my Community for the blessing of Mary’s Guest House and the unforgettable women I journeyed with there. |
