During the past 5 years we provided services for 23 women from 14 different countries. We evaluate their success with us by how they learn to cope with their trauma, their growth in self-esteem, self-confidence, and their ability to integrate back into society. For those from foreign countries, the process is slower and takes longer because of their need to learn English.
Out of 23 women: - 1 returned to the street. - 2 moved to another state. - 4 opted to return to their home countries when they were ready to do so. - 2 were transferred to other programs that were more suited to their needs. - 15 enrolled in English classes. + After obtaining a certain sufficiency, some obtained employment. + Others went on to study. 1 became a nurse assistant. 4 enrolled in Community Colleges and 2 will enter the university system next year.
